8 july 2015 - Kowno, ul. Wielka (Didžioji g.). Największa atrakcja komunikacji miejskiej w Kownie - trójczłonowy Van Hool AGG300. W tym roku KA sprowadziło z Utrechtu 4 takie pojazdy. Początkowo otrzymały przydział do linii 37. Jak widać, prawdopodobnie na okres wakacji skierowano je do obsługi linii 46, łączącej kowieński dworzec kolejowy z niewielką wsią Žiegždriai. Cały czas nie mogę oprzeć się wrażeniu, że KA po prostu nie wie, co z nimi zrobić. Linia kursująca z częstotliwością od 40 minut do godziny, biegnąca przez jakąś prowincję nie może generować napełnień, do których potrzebne są autobusy projektowane do obsługi najbardziej obciążonych tras w największych metropoliach. W rezultacie, z tego co zaobserwowałem, nawet w godzinach szczytu frekwencja w dwuprzegubowych Van Hoolach na 46 waha się między 1/3, a połową zajętych miejsc siedzących.

8 july 2015 - Kowno, prospekt Witolda. Praktycznie nieobecne w Polsce miejskie Van Hoole bardzo przypadły mi do gustu. Z zewnątrz mimo swojego wieku wciąż prezentują się nowocześnie - belgijscy projektanci wykonali kawał dobrej roboty. Wnętrze jest również bardzo przyjemne - komfortowe fotele, skuteczne wytłumienie silnika, solidny montaż (podczas jazdy nic nie skrzypi, nie trzeszczy). Szkoda tylko, że mimo całkowitego braku otwieranych okien nie używa się w nich klimatyzacji, wnętrza są duszne i przesiąknięte nieprzyjemnym zapachem.

Petrausko streets is the newest and perhaps the last addition to Kaunas trolleybus network. In 2015 reconstruction of Raudondvario plentas will start and trolleybuses will not run to Kaniūkai. According to talks in social media and press - they might not return. Also line on Draugystės street will be closed due to low passenger demand and high service cost. Perhaps, trolleybuses will not come back to Panemunė either...

24 march 2015 - Kaunas, K. Petrausko gatvė. Kaunas has bought 4 3-section buses which are first of such kind in Lithuania. And what is more sensational, both buses which are now in service are working on route 37. Since 1970`s or 80`s after an accident with Ikarus 280 there were no articulated buses buses running via Parodos hill. No one even tried to test capabilities of articulated Den Oudsten (both low and high floor) and Berkhof. They simply bought "a snake" and launched it to route 37 :)

Padający deszcz przestał być przeszkodą, gdy znalazłem schronienie pod dachem przychodni lekarskiej, skąd można było celować w skodzianki :-) Jak widać zamiast typowej kwadratowej dwurzędowej tablicy, na Litwie proponowana jest taka w formacie "amerykańskim" - to chyba dobry pomysł.
